New Production of 155 mm artillery ammunition.
Two days ago, 12 September, PGZ, along with the Dezamet firm, selected a partner to produce 155 mm artillery ammunition. The 155 mm artillery ammunition will be used by Polish made AHS Krab howitzer along with K9 Thunder Self-propelled howitzer. It was announced that BAE Systems was selected as the supplier of technology for the production of 155 mm artillery shells. We don’t have an exact date for the agreement, but it will be signed in a few days, most likely on Monday. The agreement will be signed with the presence of the Polish Prime Minister, Donald Tusk. The agreement will be crucial to expand 155 mm artillery ammunition production, as Poland currently can produce approximately 5,500 K artillery shells per month; this amount is not sustainable and needs to be upgraded. To compare, neighbouring Ukraine, which is currently at war with Russia, can use 100k – 150k artillery shells per month. This agreement could help Poland produce 100K artillery shells by 2028, as planned.
